For the Overlook Kitchen project, we collaborated with Jesse Cannon of Chase Enterprises Construction Services as the contractor and Danielle Drohan as the interior designer. Both did a phenomenal job.

Client Goals

This client had several primary goals as part of this remodel project:

• To update and modernize the look of their entire first floor
• To accentuate the height of their 10-foot ceilings by having their cabinetry extend all the way up to the ceiling

Planning Phase of this Kitchen Remodel Project

A successful kitchen remodel project requires thorough planning to ensure every detail is addressed properly. When you work with Sander & Sons, the planning phase of your project begins during your in-home consultation, when our team takes measurements of your kitchen to accurately understand the dimensions of the room. This allows us to create a kitchen design that optimizes the space available. The planning phase allows us to get creative and propose innovative design ideas that will address your goals and deliver beautiful results.

For this particular project, the client stopped into our showroom first to look at our cabinet manufacturers and finish options. Then, we set up a measurement and our designer, Monica Chalupsky, was able to see their home and make recommendations based on their goals.

Sometimes, our clients may need additional interior design services to help with finishes and decisions when they are dealing with a larger scale home remodel. We brought in one of our interior designer partners, Danielle Drohan, to help them with the overall vision during the planning phase.

Customized Solutions for the Overlook Kitchen Project

At Sander & Sons, we understand that no two homes are identical. It’s impossible to bring your vision to life with a one-size-fits-all approach to kitchen remodel. This customization ensures we’re able to maximize your enjoyment of your new kitchen for years to come.

The kitchen cabinetry played a critical role in this project. The client was interested in a quality manufacturer, and we needed to make some custom modifications to be able to stack the cabinetry seamlessly all the way to their 10-foot ceilings. Our design team recommended the following customized solutions to address these needs:

• Woodharbor cabinetry
• Quarter Sawn White Oak for the base and tall cabinetry
• Painted uppers in Morel

We also recommended using Cambria Inverness Everleigh for the countertops and full height splash, and we made some specializations for their range hood to complement their design.

Challenges

Most kitchen remodel projects encounter some challenges during the process. Even with the most careful planning, there are often unexpected issues that arise once the project gets going. Our team has over 25 years of experience, and we’ve dealt with a wide range of challenges during kitchen remodel projects. This extensive experience allows us to develop innovative solutions to address even the most difficult challenges, ensuring the finished result aligns with the client’s goals and vision.

The Overlook Kitchen project was a bit of an anomaly in this regard, as there really were no challenges encountered on our end. Everything came together very smoothly. The project was completed on time and within budget thanks to the great team working on it.

The client was very pleased with the results of their kitchen and have enjoyed entertaining in their new space. The updates to this home made it even more beautiful for this wonderful family.
