Sander & Sons Featured Project: Morrison Midcentury Kitchen
At Sander & Sons, our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional quality results at great value. We know how important your kitchen is to the enjoyment of your home, and we work hard to ensure your kitchen remodel provides the perfect space for your family’s needs. When you’re preparing and eating meals, gathering with friends at dinner parties and simply spending time in the kitchen during the day, we want your remodel to create an incredible space that delivers priceless memories for years to come.
We’d like to highlight one of our favorite projects that demonstrates the quality of work you can expect when you choose Sander & Sons for your cabinetry in your upcoming kitchen remodel project. The Morrison Midcentury Kitchen addressed a variety of functional and aesthetic goals for our client, delivering a beautiful kitchen that has the specific feel they wanted.
A Collaborative Effort
For this beautiful kitchen, our designer, Monica Chalupsky, enjoyed collaborating with the talented team of interior designers at House Home and the lovely homeowners. A kitchen and bath designer and an interior designer often partner to create cohesive and functional spaces:
- The kitchen and bath designer focuses on the specific needs and layouts of those areas, ensuring that the space and cabinetry are optimized.
- The interior designer oversees the overall aesthetic, integrating overall structure with color schemes, furniture, and decor throughout the home.
Together, they ensure that the kitchen and bathroom not only meet practical requirements but also align with the home’s overall design vision, creating a harmonious living environment.
Planning Phase of this Kitchen Remodel Project
The planning phase of the kitchen remodel project is critical. It allows our team to account for every detail necessary to bring the client’s vision to life. The planning phase begins with an in-home consultation where our team takes measurements of your kitchen so that our designers can optimize the available space. This planning process inspires greater innovation from our design team and ensures all your kitchen remodel goals are addressed in our work.
When this project was brought to us, a wall had already been removed, and the space was down to drywall and studs. The team at House Home already had a beautiful vision and drawings for the space. Our designers were able to work off those designs and confirm measurements, while offering our expertise in functionality and kitchen specific considerations. Cabinetry plays a significant role in kitchen design and involves many precise and intricate elements.
Customized Solutions for the Morrison Midcentury Kitchen Project
At Sander & Sons, we understand that a “one size fits all” approach will never address your unique needs. Every home is a true one of a kind, and every kitchen has its own set of unique dimensions and spatial properties. Similarly, every client has unique needs – your aesthetic and functionality requirements for your kitchen will never be the same as someone else’s. If we’re going to make the best use of the space and address your specific goals, customized solutions will be necessary.
We created the following customized solutions to deliver the best possible results for the Morrison Midcentury Kitchen project while staying within the client’s specified budget:
- Woodharbor cabinetry was chosen to create custom solutions for this kitchen – Inset, Madison Door Style, Custom Color-Accessible Beige
- There were architectural features that we had to work around to make sure everything will be seamless and constructed properly – there was a post against a wall and details for the side of the cabinet that had to be worked around.
- The end of the island needed to have open shelves and would be used to hold serving pieces, both functional and beautiful, ordered as parts and pieces to be built into the island.
Challenges
Unexpected challenges are often inevitable, even with detailed planning. We always expect the unexpected and have the experience to work through any challenges that may arise once the work begins.
Fortunately, this project was straightforward and didn’t encounter any unexpected challenges while the work was being completed. This is the benefit of working alongside a great team of experienced interior designers and skilled installers.
Results
The homeowner is delighted with their midcentury gem, and the kitchen looks absolutely stunning!
