Our team works closely with you to understand your goals and bring your vision to life, and we coordinate all the details of the installation to create a hassle-free process that elevates your experience.
We’d like to highlight a favorite project that demonstrates the quality of the work you can expect to receive when you choose Sander & Sons for your upcoming kitchen remodel. The modern mountain kitchen project was performed for a client in Morrison, Colorado.
For this featured home, we had the pleasure of working alongside the very talented Laura Medicus Interiors and West Elevations. The interior designer on this project, Laura Medicus, and her clients came to us with a beautiful home in Morrison that needed cabinetry and renovations for their kitchen to better suit their family’s needs.
Client Goals
During the initial phase of our process, we like to ensure we’re aligned with your goals and have the knowledge necessary to bring your vision to life.
The client had a variety of goals they wanted to achieve as part of their kitchen remodel, including:
- Open up their kitchen to the large windows on the exterior of the home that overlook the mountains
- Integrate a set of bookcases
- Conceal appliances to create a sleek look
- Include a coffee station
- Install a large island for the family to enjoy
Planning Phase of this Kitchen Remodel Project
During your in-home consultation, our team will take measurements of your kitchen to create a kitchen design that optimizes the space available. With these measurements and our thorough planning, we’re able to get innovative with our design to ensure your new kitchen addresses your goals and allows you to enjoy the space to its fullest.
We worked with Laura and her clients to plan solutions to their vision for this space. They needed to fit an 18” column freezer, a 36” column refrigerator and a speed oven adjacent to a walk-in pantry with access to the blind corner on one wall. Precise measurements and construction of the cabinetry were needed, as well as a great installation to be able to have it work seamlessly.
Customized Solutions for the Modern Mountain Home Project
At Sander & Sons, we recognize that every kitchen remodel project is unique with a different spatial layout and size for the kitchen. Each client has specific goals and needs regarding the functionality and aesthetics of their kitchen. These factors require us to approach every project as a one-of-a kind, and we work with our clients to create customized solutions that will address their needs. This customization is critical to our ability to bring your vision to life and ensure your new kitchen provides your family with years of enjoyment and priceless memories.
The following customized solutions were created to deliver the best possible results while adhering to the client’s budget for their kitchen remodel:
- A wall was removed to open up the kitchen to the exterior windows
- Woodharbor Custom Cabinetry was chosen to fit the needs of this project
- Inset cabinetry and paneled appliances were used to achieve the sleek and seamless look the client wanted
- Perimeter cabinets are painted finish in a custom color of Benjamin Moore Van Courtland Blue, Island Cabinetry is a Quarter Sawn White Oak
- Perimeter countertops are soapstone and island countertops are granite
Challenges
Challenges are going to arise with any kitchen remodel project, as there are always unexpected issues that don’t present themselves until the work begins. With years of experience performing kitchen remodels, our team has seen it all. This allows us to develop innovative solutions for any challenge that arises, ensuring the final results align with the client’s goals.
In this project, the designer and client wanted to use a set of bookcases in the design, but it conflicted with a doorway to the playroom. A solution was achieved by a highly skilled trim carpenter from West Elevations who was able to take the cabinet for the bookcase and create a hidden doorway into the playroom.
