We’d like to highlight a recent kitchen remodel project performed in Littleton that demonstrates the quality of work you can expect to receive when you work with Sander & Sons. For the Roxborough Kitchen project, we collaborated with Tim McCrillis of Brownstone Renovation as the contractor.

Client Goals

Our kitchen remodel process always begins with an in-home consultation where we can see the space we’re working with and learn about your goals for the project. This consultation sets the tone for the entire kitchen renovation and helps us bring your vision to life.

The client had two primary goals for this project – to update and modernize their kitchen, and to make their laundry room/pantry space functional. They had remodeled the rest of their home and still had the existing cabinetry on their kitchen perimeter and laundry room, so these areas needed an upgrade to align with the home’s new aesthetics.

Planning Phase of the Roxborough Kitchen Remodel

At Sander & Sons, we engage in a meticulous planning process to ensure every detail of the kitchen remodel is addressed properly. This planning begins at your in-home consultation when our team takes measurements of your kitchen. Knowing the precise dimensions of the room helps our team create a kitchen design that will make the best use of the available space. Our planning process is highly creative, and we’ll share innovative design concepts that deliver beautiful results and achieve your goals.

The planning for this particular kitchen remodel project was focused on making the space work for the client. Our designer, Monica Dowen, likes to prioritize functionality in her kitchen designs. This required us to measure specific items used in the kitchen so that we could ensure we had the proper storage and the kitchen would function as anticipated.

The homeowners like to entertain, so it was important to include a new bar hutch in the design. Additional planning items included:

Customized Solutions for the Roxborough Kitchen Project

custom cabinets for a Littleton kitchen remodelEvery kitchen has a unique spatial layout and size, and every client has their own specific goals associated with their desired kitchen aesthetics and functionality. Designing a new kitchen that aligns with our client’s goals and optimizes the unique specifications of the space require customized solutions, and this customization plays an important role in our process.

Our client loved inset cabinetry, and our designer recommended Woodharbor Inset Natural Wanut cabinets since they were the perfect option to achieve the desired look. We also used Pental Oceanus quartz countertops since they complemented the cabinetry in a way that aligned with our client’s vision for the new kitchen aesthetic.

We collaborated with Tim McCrillis of Brownstone Renovation as the contractor for this project. We felt his attention to detail and exceptional ability to meet project timelines made him the perfect fit for this project.

Challenges We Encountered

Even the most carefully planned kitchen remodel projects are likely to encounter challenges during the process. As work begins on the project, there’s always the chance that an unexpected issue may arise. We’ve been performing kitchen remodels in the Denver area for 30 years, and this experience has helped us learn how to develop innovative solutions to address a wide range of challenges that can potentially occur.

With the Roxborough Kitchen project, the ceiling posed a unique challenge because of the angles and existing soffits. We made the decision to add soffits over the range area because the range hood needed a “ceiling” to end at, and it gave the perimeter a more cohesive look.

We also encountered challenges in the laundry room/pantry area. The space is narrow, and we were trying to get as much storage as possible without making it feel too tight. We were able solve this problem with a combination of tall and base/wall cabinetry.
